Who the Fuck is Theresa?

The next morning, Kyle woke up to the sounds of a commotion outside his front door. Alex had gone home late the night before since Kyle was due to tackle some work on the truck with Tina for a run up to a museum in Pasadena. His alarm was set to go off in exactly three minutes, so he slid it to the off position and padded to the living room. He recognized the voices outside his door just as it swung open to reveal Tina with Alex on her heels.

He raised his eyebrows at Alex, who thrust a bag from the dollar store on the counter.

“Uhm, good morning?” He questioned his guests.

“I like your sex crepe guy,” Tina said, reaching into the bag and pulling out three packages of SOS pads she threw under Kyle’s sink.

“He’s my boyfriend,” Kyle clarified, sidling up to Alex and offering him a kiss on the cheek, “What did you do?” he asked.

Alex blushed, “I promised Valentina yesterday that you wouldn’t come home without SOS pads, but we got…distracted, so I went and picked some up this morning to bring them by before she got here.”

I could fall in love with you.

He blinked at Alex, then grabbed him by the face and tugged him in for a kiss. “You are amazing,” he murmured into Alex’s open mouth. Alex smiled, licking at Kyle’s teeth then pushing him away.

“I know you have a busy day, so I’ll leave you to it. Just wanted to keep up my end of the bargain.” Alex tipped his head in goodbye just as Tina screamed out a curse word and flung her phone across the kitchen counter.

“What?” Kyle and Alex asked her in unison.

“Jackson is a no-show today. He just texted me saying that his dog was sick or something. We’re gonna be fucked on the truck today, you know that, right?” Tina tilted her head up to face the ceiling and closed her eyes.

“Dammit,” Kyle groaned, pulling out a stool from the counter. He sat down and laid his head on the cool countertop.

“I wish I could help you guys, but I can barely boil water,” Alex said, laughing and taking a step toward the door to leave.

Kyle and Tina both looked up, snapping their eyes to Alex and then each other.

He doesn’t need to cook! Tina said with her eyes.

He’ll never talk to me again after being stuck in the truck with you for six hours. Kyle glared his meaning back at her.

I’m adorable and wonderful. Tina’s face countered.

“No,” Kyle verbalized.

“Yes,” Tina insisted, turning her attention to Alex. “You don’t need to cook. We just need someone to take orders. Easy peasy.”

“Oh, I can do that.” Alex, always the accommodating little helper.

“You don’t need to. It’s so cramped in the truck, and it gets really uncomfortable, and I would like us to continue seeing each other.” Kyle tried to crack a joke, but he really did not want Alex to be on the truck with them.
